Sister Veronica Donlon, SH

Sister Veronica Donlon of the Society of Helpers died March 2 at Resurrection Center in Chicago, four days before her 90th birthday. She had been a religious for 52 years.

Sister Veronica was born in Glasgow, Scotland and moved to California in the 1950s. There she volunteered at the convent of the Society of Helpers and later entered he community pronouncing first vows in 1963.

Sister Veronica then went to Chicago where she served in the community and the house of studies. From the 1970s until her retirement to Homer Glen, Illinois in 2005, she served the San Francisco community as treasurer and superior. She also served as Provincial Secretary and Provincial Councilor and was an active member of St. Anne of the Sunset Parish.

A funeral Mass was celebrated March 7 in the chapel of Marian Village in Homer Glen. Remembrances may be made to the Society of Helpers, 414 Chestnut Ave.,San Bruno 94066.
