Cardinal Law and ‘Spotlight’
March 21st, 2016
By Richard Morasci

With “Spotlight,” the end of the story still has not been written. If the church is truly interested in reconciling with the many, many victims of child abuse in the Boston archdiocese, it must send back Cardinal Law to the U.S. for his day in court. How is it possible to allow Cardinal Law to set up his very comfortable life in Rome given the fact that he oversaw the cover-up of child abuse in his diocese? What is Pope Francis waiting for? What is the American government waiting for? As long as Cardinal Law remains in Rome, I can’t see how anyone would be able to trust the Catholic Church with his or her children.
