Re “Radio commentary disappoints,” Letters, Oct. 26:
In support of Catholic Radio, I can speak for myself and have heard from many others that listening to Catholic Radio has helped us learn much about the Catholic faith including what the Catholic Church actually teaches, how to examine these teachings and how to defend these teachings.
Also, listening to Catholic Radio has helped me and many others learn how to live the faith better, how to apply the faith better, and how to apply the faith to daily life and the culture of the day.
As one Catholic Radio broadcaster said: “It helps us not to be low-information Catholics.”
As for Catholic Radio being very pro-life and very strong in opposing abortion, I believe this is a very good thing.
I am sure the critical letter writer could call the radio open lines and discuss his ideas. I am sure too that he would be treated with respect and charity and that they could explain their positions with faith and good reason.
