A Catholic adult education series connecting faith to contemporary, real-life issues will be offered this Lent at three Marin County parish locations including St. Patrick, St. Raphael and St. Sylvester, a mission of St. Raphael.
The University Series program will run in 90-minute weekday sessions between March 7 and April 11 according to Barbara Watson, coordinator of the local program. All are welcome and the cost is $8 at the door.
The University Series program is led by a faculty of men and women religious, university professors, counselors, entrepreneurs and journalists whose interactive presentations cover church history, archeology and Scriptures, faith and science, current events, marriage and family life, morality and ethics, spirituality and more.
The Marin County program is an outgrowth of the University Series founded 17 years ago by Father Dave Heney, the pastor of St. Bruno Church in Whittier. Since then the series has been offered in 15 parishes and has been attended by more than 11,000 people in Ventura and Los Angeles counties.
