the San Francisco Fire Department offers a free Neighborhood Emergency Response Team training at sessions, Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 and Nov. 6, 6:30-9:30 p.m., Holy Name of Jesus Parish, Flanagan Center, 39th Avenue at Lawton, San Francisco. “This event is sponsored by the SFFD to train individuals on the basics of personal preparedness and prevention, including hands-on disaster skills. NERT training is done by professional firefighters and is a free public service from the City of San Francisco.
