Sulpician Father Gerald Coleman, former president/rector of St. Patrick’s Seminary & University and now adjunct professor for pastoral ministries at Santa Clara University, will speak on “Clergy Sex Abuse: A Crisis in the Catholic Church,” Jan. 26, 9 a.m.-noon, Dominican Center, 43326 Mission Circle, Fremont.
“Father Coleman’s presentation will define and differentiate homosexuality from the sexual exploitation of a minor and sexual abuse of children,” organizers said. He will also outline “consequences of the crisis including loss of trust, anger and shame and the ongoing need for pastoral care of gay and lesbian persons who often bear the unwanted burden of being labeled as child molesters.”
