Father Ray Zohlen died Aug. 3, 2020 at Nazareth House. Ordained in 1953, he celebrated his 95th birthday July 20.
Father Zohlen is a former pastor of St. James Parish, San Francisco, and St. Raymond Parish, Menlo Park where his outdoor livestreamed funeral Mass was celebrated on Aug. 19.
As to his priesthood he is remembered saying: “I think I should first of all be a man of prayer. That is what is most important.”
Father Zohlen also served at parishes including Holy Name of Jesus from where he retired in 2000.
