The Schola Cantorum of the London Oratory School (director, Charles Cole) will tour the Western U.S. this summer, performing in Utah and California. This choir of about 40 boys will sing two performances in San Francisco: 11 a.m. Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral, with Archbishop Cordileone as celebrant; a 5 p.m. concert at Mission Dolores Basilica.
Founded in 1996, the choir gives Catholic boys the opportunity of a choral education within the state education system from ages 7 to 18. In addition to performing its liturgical role and sacred music, the Schola has recorded numerous soundtracks, including the “Lord of the Rings” and “Harry Potter” films, as well as CDs and television and radio broadcasts.
