Father Vincent Musaby’Imana, a priest of the Diocese of Kabale, Uganda, died Jan. 30, 2019. He was 52 years of age.
Father Vincent had been in the Archdiocese of San Francisco to assist at St. Veronica Church, South San Francisco, while Father Charles Puthota, pastor, was on vacation.
Father Vincent was known to many for his ministry in the Archdiocese of San Francisco between 2011 and 2019. He served as a chaplain at California Pacific Medical Center and at UCSF Medical Center while earning his doctorate in Catholic Educational Leadership at the University of San Francisco.
“A humble, cheerful, compassionate and intellectually gifted man, Father Vincent had been welcomed to residence over the years at Star of the Sea Parish, St. Monica-St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, and St. James Parish, all in San Francisco,” the Office of the Vicar for Clergy said in a statement. “He was widely known for his commitment to Catholic education.”
A funeral Mass will celebrated Feb. 11 at St. James Church, 1086 Guerrero St., San Francisco at 10:30 a.m. with a vigil and rosary at 10 a.m. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Interment will be at a later date in Uganda.
